Blount Small Ship Adventures, a passenger cruise ship for the Great Lakes, arrived in Hamilton Harbour on August 21 and were greeted by an honour guard from HMCS Star, Mayor Eisenberger, Councillor Bratina, Hamilton Port Authority Chairman Mel Hawkrigg, Hamilton Port Authority CEO Bruce Wood and Tourism Hamilton’s David Adames. Passengers were provided with visitor information from Tourism Hamilton, Hamilton Waterfront Trust and the Hamilton Port Authority. Guests ventured off to explore Hamilton, jumping aboard the HSR shuttle to downtown Hamilton, grabbing a cab to RBG and to other points of interest. A second ship is due to arrive on August 26 and the company is planning on stops in the summer of 2011. Hamilton’s waterfront is gaining great appeal as a place to welcome visitors and the cruise ship looked right at home docked at Pier 8 outside the Parks Canada Discovery Centre.
